I don't know about you guys, but Jack and I are from the New York school of put-things-off-until-you're-sure-i.e.-pretty-much-forever. Like many of our NYC friends, we waited a crazy-long time to get married, so it's no surprise that even though we want kids, we're waiting on that too. But because of the current economic climate, suddenly we aren't alone. Across the country, people are holding off on getting pregnant because of the recession. As for Jack and me, the bottom line is that we don't have -- and can't afford -- health insurance. We are actively working on changing that, but until we do, babies will continue to be out of the question.
I find that there are a few schools of thought when it comes to starting a family. Those who say, "Just do it. You'll never really be ready," and those who say, "Wait ’til you have the time, money, and resources to do it right." What do you guys think? How has the economy affected your decision-making?
