Lemondrop has a great post up right based on a Penn State study that claims men would rather be cheated on physically than emotionally. Though the news is presented as surprising, I totally get it. Men have long been able to separate sex from love (or even strong "like"). And while I won’t say women can’t, my single friends sure struggle with it. My theory: Men’s ability to separate the two so well, helps them zero in on what really matters, that is, emotional attachment. If the affair was just a shag, the marriage might be reparable. If the affair was emotionally meaningful -- then it might not be. I’m not sure that I feel the same way. But I wonder -- is it because of my difficulty separating sex and love?
How do you guys feel? Which would feel like a worse betrayal to you?
