By now you’ve probably seen the trailer for Sex and the City 2 (full disclosure, that’s probably as much as I’ll ever see), but the film premiered last night at midnight. I’ve already read one funny review on the AWL called “Two Straight Men See SATC2”. Spoiler alert -- the guys thought it sucked. So here’s my impression of the plot after watching the trailer: Carrie is happily married to Big, but two years in they are experiencing a bit of a fizzle between the sheets. Cut to a girls’ getaway to Abu Dhabi (yes, really…Abu Dhabi) where Carrie runs into her ex, Aidan, and sparks fly. Cue the SATC theme. Seriously? How can the plot points be exactly the same for Carrie as they were premarriage? For me, that just seems ridiculous. So I’ll take the question to you guys -- did you or did you not sort out all your ex issues before you got married? And by sort out, I mean answer questions like, “Is he the one?” I’ve definitely had a few squirmy situations postwedding -- exes came out of the woodwork via Facebook, etc. But since I had sorted out all of my feelings about them prior to tying the knot, the situations weren’t hard to diffuse.
