Here's the deal, one of my friends has some seriously crappy kids. I know that's a horrible thing to say (though, trust me, not nearly as horrible as her rug rats), but you guys know I call 'em like I see 'em. If these children aren’t picking up something large to hit each other with, they are lying on the floor screaming and crying because they can't find anything large to hit each other with. Needless to say, I don't go to my friend's house very often. And I pretty much never let Jack over there under any circumstances. Why? Because he's already gun-shy about having a baby, and I don't want to do anything to scare him off the idea permanently. But man, if I don't get a little bit scared myself when I see my friend's children's behavior....Sure, I can chalk some of it up to her parenting. There are definitely things that I see her doing (or failing to do) that I'd do differently. But some of it is just plain disposition. You can't pick the child you are going to have -- they are, after all, people.
Guess I'm not the only one that has ever felt this way. Check out this post on Tres Sugar .
Have any of you been through this? Do tell.
