This thread on TheNest.com community boards blew my mind. Talk about terrible service! Here's the deal with me -- because I've been in the service industry before, I've never been able to not tip even when it was completely warranted. It's weird, I can be really honest and confrontational when I need to be in my real life, but for some reason I can't harsh out on wait staff even when they are truly incompetent. Jack is pretty much the same way, if we have a horrible waiter or waitress at a restaurant, he'll tip 15 percent (our usual is 20). I have some friends who's husbands are terrible tippers to the point where it embarrasses them. So I'm glad Jack and I are on the same page tip-wise even if we are tipping wusses.
What about you guys? Have you ever had a situation that made you leave zilch?
