Not too long ago, Chrysler switched out traditional paper owners manuals for DVDs for their Jeep products. Now they're taking things a step further with the development of vehicle information applications for smart phones, which allow drivers access to everything from operation and maintenance information to warranty details. From Automotive News:
The new application will provide access to vehicle operation, maintenance and warranty information. It also offers video demonstration of product features, connections to the brand’s social media sites, and access to customer assistance and 24-hour road-side assistance. The apps will cover select Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep and Ram Truck vehicles in the U.S. market (and, later, Canada.) As of right now, it is being developed only for new models, though the company has said it will consider applications for older vehicles. The application will be downloadable to iPhone, Blackberry, and Android mobile devices.
