Neiman Marcus' holiday catalog seems to be the place to sell a special-edition vehicle: Last year's high-priced version of the Jag XF sold out completely, and this year a special-edition 2011 Camaro Convertible, with a whopping sticker price of $75,000, also sold every one of its available models -- in three minutes. The car was featured on NBC's "Today Show," after which a special telephone reservation line was opened. One-hundred eighty seconds later, all 100 of the Neiman Marcus Edition Camaro Convertibles were claimed.
The special edition is based on the 2011 Camaro SS, which will hit showrooms in February; buyers of the Neiman Marcus edition will see theirs sometime in the spring. Future owners had the option of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission mated to a 6.2-liter V8 engine. The Neiman Marcus edition boasts an exclusive Deep Bordeaux exterior color with matching fabric top and ghosted rally stripes, along with a matte silver windshield frame.
The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
